Basement Repair

Your basement is holding up your entire house up above, so having one repaired in any fashion can be both intimidating and expensive, though entirely necessary to prevent damaging the rest of the structure above. For this reason, when dealing with basement repairs SWC will do our best to fully explain the process. However, because of the nature of a basement, it is hidden underground. As such often is the case that the damage and the cause that created it may not become fully visible in its entirety until the wall, drainage, and foundations have been uncovered and examined either before starting or while the repair work is underway.

Common Repairs include:

  • Having to cut open and replace the cement flooring, and add floor drains and flooring slopes.

  • Block wall repairs that need structural bracing such as cribbing with support beams; excavation from the outside, membrane replacement, and also drainage replacement or repairs.

  • Poured formed concrete walls may need to be cut away, removed, and replaced entirely.

  • Water/Flooding damage may require an inspection of the basement structure if the cause is not clearly evident. The damaged drywall, studs, subflooring, carpeting, and insulation may also need to be replaced to remove both mold habitat and materials that are damaged beyond feasible repairs.
